Convert / Extract Videos with TMPGEnc 3.0 / 4.0 Xpress
There is a lot of software on the market to work with videos, both free and paid, see a small compilation.
The reasons why I recommend this software, despite being in English, are:
Simplicity, there are a multitude of attendees, you have complete help in case you get lost.
Versatility, the same goes for a broken as for a ripped.
TMPGEnc 3.0 / 4.0 Xpress, allows you to convert a wide variety of video formats to mpg / avi / wmv, compatible with DVD / SVCD / VCD (both PAL and NTSC). It also has the possibility to extract audio to a file and even incorporate audio to another file that does not have it. Another option you have is to remove audio in videos with dual audio.
It incorporates tools for multiplexing / demultiplexing videos and consists of an interface through a wizard that makes it very simple.
We can download this application from your main web page.
The tutorial index is:
- Select source.
- Set output.
When accessing the program, this screen appears:
In it we have the possibility of incorporating txp3 files (external coding tools), multiplexing / demultiplexing files, as well as loading an existing project or starting a new one.
To start working, we press one of these two buttons, which basically do the same thing, start the project:
2. Select Source (Set Source).
We enter the matter, and the first thing we have to do is select the source file / s to be treated, either directly video files or a DVD from which we want to extract a sequence.
At this point, we will add the video files that we want to treat, either from disk or from a reader unit. With this button you start in assistant mode, offering both possibilities.
3. Edit (Cut-edit).
After adding a video, it automatically shows us the video information screen:
Depending on the process that we are going to do with the video (I will extract audio from a scene, join another video …) we will proceed:
a) We are going to try the entire video to convert from format.
b) We are going to join another video.
c) We are going to extract a fragment (video or audio).
d) We are going to extract all the audio.
Once we edit the videos, the following screen is shown, in which it shows us the added videos in an order that we can alter. Likewise, you can delete one or all of them if there has been an error and you can also access the Filters, in case you want to improve the quality.
Version 4.0 has more filters than version 3:
- Deinterlace. Remove the lines.
- Crop. Crop the video size in pixels.
- Ghost reduction. Remove ghosting.
- Noise reduction. Remove noise from the image.
- Sharpness. Improve sharpness.
- Color correction. Give / take more / less: brightness, contrast, rgb gamut, etc.
- Resize. Resize the video resolution.
- Audio correction. Enhance / enhance the audio of the video.
4. Set output.
Clicking the “Format” button gives us the possibility to choose the output format, we have:
The image specifies the different standard configurations, although they can be modified.
Comment that the difference between XDVD and DVD is that the codec is more expensive at the cost of quality to fit more minutes of video.
To extract audios from videos. Depending on the audio codecs that we have, we can convert them. Here is the most common. The resulting wave file can be easily converted to mp3 with Nero Wave Editor.
To process video files with dual audio, after selecting the source, go to filters and in Audio correction, we have the option of Bilingual audio to select the audio that we want to leave in the final file.
Once here, we only have to choose the place where to locate the result of our work and give it a name.
*** At a particular level, inform that much of the use that I give to this software is to convert the .mov videos that my camera records to .avi (xvid).
